Fátima Noronha is a former graduate in Marine Biology and Fisheries. After a long experience running her own business in the tourism industry (nature sports, scuba diving), she graduated in Languages and Communication from Universidade do Algarve and, then, she started a career as an English/Spanish/French into Portuguese translator for technical and scientific areas. She completed a Translation Traineeship at the Directorate General of Translation (European Parliament). Since 2017, she has been working as a Lecturer at Universidade do Algarve, where she has been teaching Terminology and Communication, Language and Communication Policies, Introduction to Computer Assisted Translation and Portuguese as a Foreign Language.

In 2018, she completed a MSc degree in Science of Languages (Terminology). Currently, she is working on a PhD thesis on Terminological Variation and Ecolinguistics, under the supervision of Professor Manuel Célio da Conceição
