My name is Magdalena Walenta. I hold a Ph.D. in Linguistics and an M.Sc. in Architecture. I used to be a practicing architect (working in Poland and in the USA) until my love for the English language finally won over. I work as an assistant professor at the Institute of English studies at the University of Warsaw and as a lecturer at the Foreign Language Center at Warsaw University of Technology, where I coordinate English language teaching at the Faculty of Architecture. My major research interests include CLIL, pedagogical grammar and processing instruction. I also design and teach content-based language courses for architecture students, practicing architects and academics at the Faculty of Architecture. I publish on CLIL, processing instruction and bridging the gap between Foreign Language Learning theories and classroom practice (and yes… architecture is part of my writing ☺).
